Croke Park - Greener. On and off the pitch.
Croke Park is proud to be the first stadium to be awarded the BS 8901 accreditation for Sustainable Event Management.
Since the start of their sustainability journey in 2008, Croke Park has reduced gas consumption by 29%, electricity by 31% and water consumption by 28%. 62% of their waste is now recycled or composted. They have systems such as PIR sensors (Passive Infrared Lighting) in place to ensure that electricity is correctly regulated (lights go off automatically when rooms are not in use). Solenoid valves are used to ensure that water usage is controlled and all waste produced is correctly segregated.
Croke Park is proud to have achieved a number of international standards and awards including ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), BS 8901:2009 (Sustainable Event Management) and the Best Conference Events Venue 2011. The venue has an Environmental and Sustainability Management Group (ESMG) in place to monitor and drive sustainability initiatives.
